A COLLABORATION between local authorities in Herefordshire and Worcestershire and the local Learning and Skills Council (LSC) has been recognised in the West Midlands Provincial Council Training Stars Workforce Development Awards.
The Leadership Development Pilot was a runner up in the awards.
Designed to enhance the effectiveness of senior management teams, including CEOs, directors and heads of service within each local authority, the pilot sought to develop key competencies for working in these roles.
Nominated participants benefited from one-to-one consultations and diagnostic assessments.
Development modules covered a wide range of learning topics, including community leadership, delivering services, setting direction, priorities and resources, organising and changing, partnership working and personal and team awareness.
Karen Hilling, skills and sector broker at the local LSC, welcomed the judges' recognition.
"The pilot enabled the participants to develop their leadership skills and ability and the judges were impressed by this pioneering approach," she said.
"Its success will be a catalyst for future leadership and workforce development work."
