Customers at a Newent pub will be able to enjoy a pint in a new beer garden, if planning permission is granted.
The landlord of the King's Arms, Tony Rusher, aims to create a decked patio at the rear of the pub and transform an overgrown patch of land to a grassed area for families.
The proposals, submitted to Forest of Dean District Council this week, are part of a facelift at the pub, which Mr Rusher took over six months ago, after moving from the Black Dog in the town centre.
"We're having the insides all painted at the moment," he said. "We want to tidy everything up a bit."
Once work is finished, Mr Rusher said he hoped to start serving food at the venue.
