THE annual meeting of the HGTA Herefordshire Junior League on Monday evening heard that the league's complement for the forthcoming season will be 122 sides.

Sixteen sides will take part in the U9s division, 22 at U10, 17 at U11, 15 at U12, 17 at U13, 14 at U14, 14 at U15 and seven at U16.

Fixtures for the new season will be arranged by the Herefordshire Football Association and these will be circulated in mid-August.

The first games will be played on the weekend of September 10 and 11.

On the field, the major change will be that teams, from the U11 age group upwards, will in future follow an FA ruling and have five substitutes who can be deployed on a rolling basis.

The league's management structure has also had to be revised following the untimely death, earlier this year, of former secretary Dave Higgins. Mike Amies was elected as general secretary with Ken Hooper taking over as results and registration secretary.

"Dave will be sadly missed but we shall look to take the league forward in his memory," said Mr Hooper.

Officers: president, Tony Cole; chairman, Mick Harmon; vice-chairman, Dave Owen; general secretary, Mike Amies; results and registration secretary, Ken Hooper; referees' secretary, Ian Scott; treasurer, Pete Morris.
