EXHIBITION - An exhibition of original paintings, prints and crafts at Little Rodd (one mile from Presteigne on B4335 to Kington Road), from Saturday until Monday, 11am-5pm. Refreshments are available through the day.

TABLE TOP SALE - The village of Evenjobb have a table top sale a the village hall on Sunday, 1pm-5pm. Refreshments are available throughout the afternoon. CONCERT - The Upper Rhine Youth Wind Band from the Black Forest, Germany are performing a concert in St Andrews Church on Saturday, September 3, 7.30pm. The conductor is Julian Gibbons and the programme is to include pieces from Phantom of the Opera, Festive Overture, Batman, First Suite and local soloists in Variation on a Kitchen Sink by Don Gillis. Tickets are £5 and are available from Peter Gibbons on 01544 260551. Proceeds will go to St Andrews Church and Friends of St Michael's, Discoed.

ART AND CRAFT - Lingen Village Hall have an art and craft exhibition and sale from Saturday until Monday. Refreshments are available all day with Ploughmans served from midday until 2pm. LLANDUDNO - Just a reminder that the annual Bank Holiday Trip by the Royal British Legion to Llandudno is on Monday, August 29. There is still a few seats left on the bus, which costs £3.50 for members and £6 for non-members. For more details call John Crowe on 01544 260317.

WOMEN'S INSTITUTE - A trip through the valleys and dams of mid Wales ending up at the Red Kite feeding station at Rhayader resulted in a resounding successful mystery trip for the August meeting. The unofficial travel courier, Mrs Jayne Sharp, kept everyone enthralled with her reminiscences of her life spent in places they visited.

HALL COMMITTEE - The committee expressed their disappointment at the poor turnout for the family disco last Saturday. They extend their thanks to the five villagers who did attend. It is hoped the next event a 60's evening will be better received.

HALL DRAW -The £50 first prize in the draw in aid of hall funds. was won by Mrs Leanne Lawrence. A full list of prize winners may be obtained from Ann 01568 708446. The village hall committee thank all who donated prizes and sold the tickets.
