Ewyas Harold 4 Sutton United 0

EWYAS Harold picked up the season's first silverware in the Hereford Times Herefordshire League when they captured the League Shield with a comprehensive win over Sutton at an excellently prepared Burghill ground.

Rob Cooper-Tomkins missed an early chance for Harold who went on to dominate the first 25 minutes.

Sutton, however, played their part in an entertaining first half as they battled away strongly to shade the second part of the first period.

Harold, last season's league champions, established firm control in the second period when Matt Pitt scored twice and Kevin Gwilliam once to put them 3-0 ahead.

Danny Johns then punished an error by goalkeeper Scott Garrett, who tried to dribble the ball out of danger, to round off the scoring.

Pitt failed with an opportunity to complete his hat-trick in the closing stages when he failed from the penalty spot.
