Bromyard extended their lead to 27 points at the top of of the Crusader Worcestershire County League Division 2 and, with a comfortable 56-point gap over third-placed Netherton, could wrap up promotion this weekend.

On Saturday they swept to their sixth consecutive win when they bowled out home side Harborne for 181 and easily knocked off the runs for the loss of one wicket, their third nine-wicket success during the spell.

Harborne were going along steadily before the introduction of Ben Ford changed the course of the game. He picked up 5-41 and also had a hand in two run-outs as the home side were bowled out for 181 in the final over, a total that was below par on a small ground with a good pitch.

Ashley Bullock got his head down when Bromyard replied to back up his brother, Matt, who scored 24 off 30 balls before being caught at cover at 42. Zahid Saeed, who had been overshadowed with the ball, looked to leave his mark on the game.

He started steadily but then opened his shoulders to sweep his side to victory in the 41st over. He struck 16 fours and a six in his run-a-ball innings of 82, with the more sedate Bullock undefeated on 45.
