THREE members of the Acorn Aikido Club have been successful in obtaining Shodan, also known as black belt, in the sport.

Terry Champ, an older student who has worked hard at the sport over the last four years, and Diane Goodman, who has been training in Aikido for the last 14 years, have attained their black belt with Shobu Aikido UK. Goodman also has 1st Kyu, brown belt in Go Jo Ryu Karate.

The third student, Mark Taylor, was awarded his Shodan by the National Aikido Federation and is now teaching at Hereford Lads Club on Tuesday nights from 8-10pm.

Acorn Aikido Club, under instructors Lyn Goodman and Richard Roberts, practise at Leominster Leisure Centre on Sunday mornings from 9-11am.
