Publicans in Newent were meeting last night (Thursday) to discuss setting up a Pub Watch scheme.
This follows the success of a scheme in Lydney, which has been operating for two years with the backing of Police.
Licensees will be asked to establish a 'banned from one pub, banned for all' rule for trouble-makers.
Acting Sgt Richard Pitman, scheme co-ordinator for the Lydney and the Newent areas, said: "It's a show of solidarity that means trouble will not be tolerated.
"Police and licensees want to create a safe and secure environment for customers and staff and this is one way of providing this."
