LEDBURY Magpies have had mixed fortunes in their two recent home games in the Worcester Netball League.
Their first game was against table-toppers Keystones, who turned up with a weakened team, and Magpies were surprised, but thrilled, to collect the points.
Magpies started well with good scoring from Liz Far (GA) and Kim Robinson (GS). The scoring crept higher each quarter with Magpies maintained in control of the game through Cheryl Evans (C), Hayley Powell-Tuck (WA) and Claire Marsh (WD).
Magpies won 34-17.
In their next game Magpies welcomed back captain Jackie Dixon but they were on the receiving end of some good shooting by Misys, who eventually won 23-16.
Magpies made several changes to try and stem the flow of goals but it was not enough.
Magpies' Cheryl Evans was player of the match in both games.
