BOSBURY won this Marches League Division four match against Builth Wells seconds by 106 runs.

Put into bat, Bosbury openers Merv Carless and Gary Fletcher started off confidently and soon had the run rate up at six per over, before Carless called for a quick single which saw Fletcher run out for 27 with the score on 68.

Matt Graff joined Carless and they had taken the score to 100 when Graff played too early at a full toss from Marshall, and top edged it to G McIlroy at point. Luke Ledbury was the next man in, and he and Carless played more steadily for the next 15 overs, as they put on 78 runs until Ledbury was bowled by Clarke for 36.

Dave Daffin made a quick nine before playing on to Hall, bringing Darren Cooke in to join Carless. These two began to accelerate the scoring, and Carless was in sight of his century until a chaotic mix-up led to Carless being run out for 95, to finish a magnificent innings containing 17 fours.

Steve Davies joined Cooke with four overs still to play, and they added a further 20 before Cooke was bowled by G McIlroy for 33, including two 6s and three 4s, then Mark Wadley scored seven as Bosbury closed on 282-6 after 45 overs, with Davies 24no.

In reply, Builth Wells got off to a slow start, and were on 24 in the 10th over when Mark Wadley struck as M Williams edged to gully where Gary Fletcher caught the ball magnificently in his outstretched right hand. J Morgan came in to join K Hall, and they took the score on towards 100.

Matt Graff then struck in his second over, as Williams hooked the ball to Peter Blake on the square leg boundary and he was out for 27. Darren Cooke replaced Graff after three overs, and then he too struck in his second over, trapping new batsman T Marshall lbw for one.

Hall and B Jones then batted steadily, taking the score to 130 before Peter Blake was brought on to bowl and he took two quick wickets. With his first ball, Hall (65) was bowled and with his very next ball, Blake had A Claridge lbw for 0. A few overs later as G Claridge fell for 17.

Wadley returned to the attack with a few overs remaining, and he picked up the wicket of G Morgan, caught by Luke Ledbury for 0, and then Peter Blake picked up his 4th wicket, bowling S Morgan for four. J McIlroy (5no) and B Jones (31no) then played out the remaining two overs.

The win by 106 runs saw Bosbury pick up 19 points as they continue their push for the title.
