Eastnor, having been put into bat first in this WCL division one match, made Bewdley work hard for their first wicket with 61 runs being scored from 12 overs.

EASTNOR v BEWDLEY

Adeel was the first batsman out for 24 runs. For Eastnor, Jabran batted well for his 34 runs and Arshad hit 22 but the mainstay of Eastnor's batsmen was Steve Emery, who was involved in a run-out with his son Josh, who departed for no score.

He soon put things right by hitting a fine 64 with further runs coming from Faisal (21) and Christian Ferreira not out on 29.

At the end of 50 overs Eastnor had rattled up 242-9. J Boult bowled 25 overs to claim 4-67 and R Combes 2-65.

In reply, Bewdley never looked like reaching the Eastnor total with four wickets falling for only 41 runs. R Combes was the only batsman who settled, scoring 43 before being removed by Jabran with a ball that appeared to turn by a good 18 inches or so.

The middle-order batsmen surrendered to Jabran before Shahid mopped up most of the Bewdley batsmen. Wicket-keeper C Ramsey, despite an arm injury, returned from hospital to bat at number 11 but to no avail as he was lbw to S Emery for three.

Bewdley were all out for 135 in 41.3 overs.
