Colwall fourths enjoyed only their third victory of the season with a convincing and comprehensive eight-wicket win over Pershore thirds.

Having won the toss and put Pershore into bat, Colwall's opening bowling pair of John Foxall and Steven Coffey got a quick break through a piece to remove Pershore's opening pair.

After these early wickets though, it was a perfect day for batting taken advantage of by the third wicket stand, who put on over 100 with O Harrison, 67, and Burt, 41.

But the return of the opening pair bowlers swung the game back in Colwall's favour with Foxall removing Burt, caught and bowled, and Coffey clean bowling Harrison. After that Pershore collapsed with Foxall finishing with 5-37 and Coffey 4-33.

In reply, Colwall's opening pair of Tim Ward and Simon Harwood put on 103 chasing 171 to win before R Harrison had Harwood caught for 32. This brought Sam Critchard to the wicket, who proceeded to put the ball to every corner of the ground.

During this second-wicket stand of 68 runs, in seven overs, captain Tim Ward scored 64no and Critchard scored 42 before being caught, leaving Kit Lister to hit the winning run.
