Teversal 1 Pegasus Juniors 1
PEGASUS, making their debut in the competition, face a replay at Old School Lane tonight (Thursday) against their Nottinghamshire rivals for a place in the first qualifying round of the FA Cup.
Chris Mortlock and Paul Brown forced two excellent saves from home goalkeeper Paul Lomas as Pegasus were the first to settle and Lomas again did well in the 11th minute to keep out a Daniel Sobocinski shot.
But Teversal, who defeated higher-graded Shirebrook Town in the previous round, took the lead against the run of play in the 16th minute when a free-kick by former Sheffield Wednesday player Dave Cockerill caused a misunderstanding in the visitors' defence and a series of deflections wrong-footed goalkeeper Jamie Hales.
It was a foul by Cockerill on Bobby Aldrich just short of the hour mark which brought the Pegasus equaliser.
Aldrich himself stepped up and beat Lomas with a shot of stunning ferocity.
The sides must now meet again for the right to travel to Matlock Town on September 10.
