Ledbury Town 5 Heath Hayes 0

LEDBURY notched their second West Midlands League Premier Division success in four days when they followed up their 1-0 win over Brierley & Hagley with a 5-0 thumping of Heath Hayes.

Nicky Welch powered home a 20-yard free-kick to open the scoring in the early stages and a cross from the impressive Neil Gardiner was powered home by Sean Maynard on the half-hour.

Nick Stockley tapped home the third on the hour and, with Ledbury on the rampage, a solo run and unstoppable shot by Gardiner made it four shortly afterwards.

Jamie Hyde completed the rout five minutes from time.

Wellington 3 Lye Town 1

DANNY Hill netted his third goal in three outings when he opened the scoring for Wellington on 25 minutes after a neat exchange with Kenny Styles.

Styles added the second when he fired a left-foot drive into the bottom corner of the net after good work by Lee Ferneyhough and only a brilliant save prevented Mark Fish from adding the third from a free-kick just before the break.

But the next goal duly arrived midway through the second period when Matt Williams' corner was emphatically headed in by Liam Craig.

With the game effectively over, Wellington eased back and Lye reduced arrears from a free-kick 10 minutes from time.

Bromyard 1 Shawbury United 2

ONLY an excellent display from goalkeeper Barry McLean prevented Bromyard from suffering an even more emphatic defeat.

The home side failed to show any life in the first 30 minutes and Shawbury deservedly took the lead with a well-worked goal to be in control at the break.

The visitors added a second on 70 minutes when Bromyard lost the ball from their own corner. Bromyard finally pulled a goal back through Mark Russell 10 minutes from the end but rarely looked as if they would get anything from the game.

Bromyard 1 Wellington 0

IN a midweek match, Mark Russell's strike after 75 minutes settled the match in favour of the home side.

Wellington should, however, have gone in front after 40 minutes when Kenny Styles had a penalty saved and blazed the rebound over.

With Marc Priday in fine form in the Wellington goal, a draw seemed to be on the cards but the goalkeeper was eventually beaten when Russell's shot took a deflection off Liam Craig to find the net.

Kington Town 2 Bustleholme 2

KINGTON threw away a two-goal lead as Bustleholme staged a second-half rally to secure a point.

Liam Jones put the border club ahead after 20 minutes but the home side had goalkeeper Simon Hamer to thank for preserving the lead when he dived to save a Bustleholme penalty just before the interval.

Seventeen-year-old Jones showed how it should be done when he fired home from the spot just 25 seconds into the second period but this was the signal for the visitors to hit back and they levelled with two goals from set-pieces.

Kington might have snatched the points five minutes from time but Dave Griffiths' volley from outside the box crashed against the bar and Mark Maunders' follow-up shot was blocked on the line.

Sporting Khalsa 6 Hinton 2

PHIL Glover was both hero and villain as Hinton surrendered a first-half lead in Division 1.

Glover tapped home after Jody Dawe beat the offside trap on 20 minutes but then pulled a home striker down to concede a penalty just before the break.

Glover went up to boost the Hinton attack from a corner just after the break and scored his second goal of the match only to miss his header at the other end to allow Khalsa to level.

The home side then scored twice in rapid succession and rounded off an, in the end, comprehensive victory with two more late goals.

Darlaston Res 1 Bromyard Res 0

WITH five youth-team players in their side, Bromyard turned in a brave display before going down to a single-goal defeat in Division 2.
