DIVISION three pacemakers Kington 3rd and Ross face a Flint & Cook Marches League title showdown on Saturday.

The rivals clash in South Herefordshire after both won their penultimate games last weekend.

Ross chased 176 at Colwall 3rd to win by seven wickets while Kington had an even easier passage against Wormelow 2nd whom they saw off by eight wickets.

Wayne Morgan (65 not out) and Jim Lewis (54) both scored half-centuries while Kevin Gwynne's 4-26 included his 900th wicket for Kington in a career stretching back more than 30 years.

Crickhowell look virtually certain of the Division 2 title after hammering Shobdon by 127 runs but the other promotion place is still in the balance after third-placed Leominster cut the gap on Bartestree & Lugwardine with an eight-run win over their rivals.

The Palmer brothers, Russell (82) and Nick (61), batted well in Leominster's 248-4 while skipper Peter Hinkley's brave 138 for Bartestree ultimately proved to be in vain.

Veterans Gerald Morgan (171 not out) and Rob Wall (6-30) were in top form for Builth Wells who beat Marden by 198 runs.

Leaders Bosbury remain favourites to carry off the Division 4 title from second-placed Presteigne after hammering Leominster 2nd by 215 runs.

David Taylor (128 not out), Luke Ledbury (91 not out) and Jon Owen (6-29) starred for Bosbury who piled up 326-2 and then bowled out their hosts for just 111.

l In the Division 5 Cup final on Saturday, Lads Club will take on Ewyas Harold while Kington 4th and Woolhope 2nd will contest the Division 6 final.
