The school holidays are two thirds gone and many teenagers are pulling out their hair with boredom - but not all.

A group of Leominster youngsters, led by 16-year-old Keri Hoffman, are putting on a show to raise money for a local cause.

The cast of 50 - aged between seven and 17 - is working hard to ensure that this year's "evening of entertainment" is bigger and better than last year's - which raised more than £800 for Leominster's We Want Our Pool campaign.

Singers and dancers will perform numbers from all eras, including from top musicals such as Chitty Chitty, Bang Bang, Cats and Chicago and hits from artists such as Ella Fitzgerald, T-Rex, The Corrs, Cher and Natasha Bedingfield.

Acts include solo and group performances with musical accompaniment.

Aimed at entertaining all the family, the show features performances from some very talented local young people and takes place at Minster College in Leominster on Saturday evening from 7.30pm (doors open at 7pm).

Tickets are available at Leominster Community Centre, Fletchers newsagents, Broad Street, and The Paint Box, West Street.

Keri, who is producing the show for the second time, is hoping the public will support the venture, which this year will raise money for Norfolk House sheltered housing complex in Leominster, where her mum Caroline works and Keri sometimes entertains the residents.

"It helps that she has such a good voice!" Caroline said.

Keri has been nominated for a young ambassador's award and has taken part in various community projects.

She attends Curtain Call, a youth arts group, and is a member of Leominster School Choir.

She has always been into music, and hopes her GCSE results allow her to go on to study performing arts at Worcester College.
