HEREFORD United chief Graham Turner was hoping to recruit a wing-back on a short-term loan before the transfer window closed last night.
With Ryan Green ruled out for three matches after being sent off at Tamworth on Monday and Simon Travis still around three weeks away from full fitness, Turner said that his priority had shifted to bringing in a replacement in that position for Saturday's home fixture with Altrin-cham.
Green will also miss the tough trip to Stevenage the following Saturday and the visit by Morecambe on September 17.
Tamika Mkandawire, who missed out at Tamworth on Monday, remains a doubt for Saturday with a knee ligament problem while Guy Ipoua is still having treatment for a hamstring injury.
The Altrincham match kicks-off at 12 noon as England visit Wales for a televised World Cup qualifier at 3pm.
