Leominster'S win over visiting Weobley in their final match created a new record in the Nash Rocks Bowls League.
It meant that the new champions lost only one match in the season and kept a 100% home record.
Their only defeat came when they visited Kingsland at the end of May and they then embarked on a 13-match unbeaten run.
Weobley gave Leominster a run for their money in the final game, however, picking up one rink and drawing a second. But a runaway 30-16 win by Ron Perry's rink was enough to see Leominster home.
In the only other match played last week, last year's champions Kington took a firm grip on the runners-up slot with a 19-shot home victory in their last match against Brimfield.
The clubs shared rink honours but Brynley Powell's Kington rink won 36-10 and Terry Owens' rink, 32-11, to give them the edge on the day.
Kingsland are now the only club who can overhaul Kington but must win their last match by a handsome margin to go equal on points and take second place on shot difference.
Results: Leominster 92, Weobley 70; Kington 126, Brimfield 107.
l Herefordshire's interest in the National Express English Men's Championships at Worthing ended with the first-round singles defeat of Mike Ricketts (Hereford) who went out 21-0 to C Wright, of White Rock, Sussex.
