CANON Frome batted first with Chris Styles and Rob Mence taking strike and they forged a fine opening partnership of 100 before Styles fell for 66 in the 23rd over.

Two quick wickets then fell as Neil Andrews and Richard Wood both departed in similar fashion, holing out to mid-on for eight and two respectively. The Mence brothers Rob and Rhod then put on 79 for the fourth wicket, which spanned only nine overs, with Rhod departing for 28. When Rob Mence fell for 75 in the 39th over Frome stood on 204-5.

This brought Jon Williams and Seth Marshall together and carnage ensued as the last six overs of the innings brought 89 runs, Marshall notched 14, Marcus Wrinch 13no whilst Williams clouted his way to 55no with seven 6s, as Frome finished on 290-6.

Llandrindod lost their first wicket at 18 with Seth Marshall striking to remove Truelove. The visitors looked to play shots in an attempt to reach the imposing target but also lost wickets at fairly regular intervals.

Marshall rook his second wicket at 56 and Chris Styles joined the party to take three wickets leaving the Welshmen on 140-5.

Neil Andrews then trundled in to take two wickets and then innings ended on 219 when Rhod Mence delivered his mixture of full tosses to grab his first league wickets of the season as Llandrindod totalled 219 all out.
