Eastnor thirds' final league match ended in defeat against Lads Club by 116 runs.
EASTNOR III v LADS CLUB
A very young Eastnor side fielded first and after a lengthy first over from Tom Watkins he struck the first blow in the fifth over with Cordone lbw. Caffelle, who had been dropped in the first over (43) and Moggs (43) put on 75 runs for the second wicket when Gary Watkins had Caffelle well caught by James Febery. Nick Haggar (4-32) and Taylor (1-23 off 11) bowled tightly to keep the final total down to 180, with all the youngsters doing well in the field.
In reply, Caffelle struck quickly and with Barry Oldman soon had Eastnor in trouble at 14-4. Tom Powell (9) and Jack Vernall added a spirited 19 runs but the spin of Caffelle became their undoing. John Taylor hit a swift 28 but the innings closed in the 19th over. Caffelle took 6-27.
