A Newent Community School pupil has been praised by his school for outstanding performance at A'Level, achieved while recovering from serious illness.
Tim Crewcock achieved two A-grades and a B-grade, even though he missed four months of schooling having contacted TB during an overseas trip.
Eight students in total achieved straight A-grades, and most outstanding performer was Janet Skitt, who achieved four straight A-grades.
