Hereford United have to overcome a mini injury crisis in the lead-up to Saturday's important Nationwide Conference clash with Stevenage Borough at Broadhall Way.

Alex Jeannin, Adam Stansfield, Guy Ipoua and Jon Brady were all missing from training in mid-week with Ipoua and Brady, who both have hamstring problems, rated 'touch and go' by director of football Graham Turner to be fit for the weekend.

On a more positive note, however, Turner said that he believed Jeannin and Stansfield would be available for the revenge clash with Stevenage who beat the Bulls in last season's Conference play-off semi-finals.

Although Stansfield has yet to open his account for the season, his energetic running and hard work make him a key figure in the United line-up. He will be hoping to repeat his success of last season at Broadhall Way when he scored the only goal in Hereford's league win.

Midfielder Jamie Pitman, now recovered from his close-season shoulder operation, will be hoping for a recall to the Hereford midfield after an impressive display in the Bulls' 2-1 friendly win over Bristol Rovers at Edgar Street on Tuesday afternoon.

The match provided an opportunity for match practice for the likes of Pitman, Stacy Coldicott, Craig Mawson, Andy Williams and Graham Evans who have not figured in the starting side in recent games.

Turner also took the chance to experiment with Andy Ferrell at wing-back and the former Watford player responded by scoring the first goal, with the other coming courtesy of an own goal.

Jamie Forrester, who had earlier seen a penalty saved by Mawson, scored the Rovers consolation goal.
