WORMELOW made it 10 wins from 10 this season when they captured the Herefordshire Youth Under-13 League title with a 35-run play-off win over Kington at Bromyard.
The villagers had won all nine of their league matches to qualify for the final, scoring almost 1,500 runs in the process.
Wormelow won the toss and elected to bat in the final but were restricted to just 44 runs from their first 10 overs by some tight bowling from James Bourdon-Pierre and Nick Evans.
Skipper Matt Evans (44), in partnership with Tom Cutler (42 not out), then upped the tempo and, in spite of a few wobbles, Wormelow ended on 124-5.
Kington were also restricted in the early stages by opening bowlers Chris Parry and Ashley Weston but were one run ahead at the half-way point.
All-rounder Richard Pritchard (2-16) then removed both openers and support bowling from Lee Watkins (1-25), Cutler (1-10) and Evans (0-7) pegged back the middle-order with Parry (3-13) returning to take three wickets in the final over.
Kington's innings eventually closed on 89-7 with the principal contributions coming from S Gittoes (22), Nick Evans (15) and H Gayton (11).
