Ewyas Harold and Woolhope 2nd have both ended the season with some silverware after carrying off the Flint & Cook Marches League Division 5 and 6 cups respectively.

In the Division 5 final, Bryan Caffelle (26) and Chris Price (19) gave Lads Club a good start with an opening stand of 45 and Ashley Oliver (26) and Kevin Maggs (22) followed up with useful scores to take the city side to 112-4 after 30 overs.

But good bowling by Alan Davies (3-22), Derek Manning (3-29) and Keith Manning (3-30) brought about a collapse and Lads Club were dismissed for 127 after 39.4 overs.

With five extra overs available to them, Ewyas Harold were not under pressure to score fast even though they had been restricted to 42-3 by the time Barry Oldman (2-27) and Oliver (1-14) completed their 12-over stints after 24 overs.

Davies (18), Phil Brookes (16) and Ken Madders (12) all contributed useful scores for the visitors who were guided to victory by Geoff Owen (41 not out) and Stuart Rowberry (17 not out) in the 48th over.

Chris Ball (44), skipper Mike Pudney (43) and John Hall (37) all batted well for Kington 4th in the Division 6 final as the border club posted 205 all out.

But with Coral Handley (60) and M Jones (59) in fine form, Woolhope made light work of their task, romping home by five wickets with five overs to spare.
