n Angela Wilkes enjoyed the support of a record turnout for her Captain's Day at Kington with Diana Kemp taking the top prize with 41 points, edging out the captain-elect Audrey Fox on a countback.

Sherrie Gore won the Club Championship with a fine score of 162 (83, 79), finishing nine shots clear of runner-up Pam Layton on 171 (88, 83).

Anita Dart took the nett prize with 136 (65, 71) with Pip Frost in second place with 142 (78, 64).

The mixed team went down by 6-5 at home to Worcester G & C, but came back to beat visiting Ross-on-Wye 9-3.

n Summerhill captain Sarah Powell was delighted with the support at the Summerhill Open Day and welcomed golfers from far and wide.

n Katy Edwards showed consistent form to win the Mary Beavis Cup at Ross-on-Wye, a competition decided on the best aggregate gross score played over two rounds.

In the first round she posted an excellent 74, cutting her handicap to five, and followed this with a 78 and an 18-shot margin over the rest of the field.
