CONDITIONS were not ideal for Hereford Fly Fishing Club's bank fishing competition at Cantree Reservoir, Glamorgan.
The 42-acre lake is set high in the Brecon Beacons, surrounded by woodlands, and is stocked with both brown and rainbow trout.
But a hot, still, sunny day with very little ripple on the water made it difficult, although some fish were coaxed to the net, the best being a 2lbs 12ozs trout by Eric Griffiths.
Results: 1 Peter Betts (6 fish) 9 lbs 4 ozs, 2 Colin Poole (4) 6-12, 3 Eric Griffiths (2) 3-8.
