FORTY young people, sponsored by Lions clubs from all over the world in the Lions Youth Exchange Programme, are in England to experience the culture and see what it is like to live with an English family.

Coming from countries as far apart as Denmark and India, Poland and Canada or Brazil, these young people of around 18 to 20 years of age are staying for 20 days. They first got to know each other in camp at the Lincoln Horticultural College where they were entertained by local Lions clubs.

After this, they travelled to their respective host families connected with Lions clubs all over the country.

Among them was 20 year old Caroline Courty from Perpignan, South West France, who came to Ross-on-Wye to stay with Lion Keith Wilding and his partner, Sue.

Members of the Ross Lions Club, with their wives, were invited to a barbecue at Lion Keith's house so that they could welcome Caroline to the area.

The Lions International Youth Exchange programme is an annual event with a different country being chosen to act as hosts each year.
