FLOWER SHOW - Visitors to Moccas Village Hall on Saturday were greeted with a wonderful variety of flowers and vegetables in the peak of condition.
The domestic section was well supported with chocolate cakes, jams, pickles and bakewell tarts. The children’s section was a paint box of colour with six cress eggs in a box, gingerbread boys and girls and vegetable animals. Emily Kitchen won best in show for her vegetable animal Parsley the Lion.
Congratulations to all the other winners: John Entwisle (vegetables), Brian Griffiths (longest runner bean), Rene Whittall (domestic), Pam Probert (wine) and Phyllis Brown (flowers). Frances Fletcher and Susan Wright tied for the craft section, Erica Jerman and Beth Tate were winners in the children’s section and Phyllis Brown had the highest points in the show. With more than 350 entries in the adult sections and 60 in the children’s, thanks go to the judges who gave their time freely and to all those who helped make the day a great success.
