There was a good turnout in the village hall for the October meeting of Breinton Parish Council. As expected, discussion was dominated by Herefordshire Council’s preferred option for the route of the relief road, which is to be funded by at least 8,500 new houses which will be built in the city.

It was noted that Herefordshire Council had not responded to concerns previously raised by the parish council that many people were not aware of the recently announced preferred option and the limited period in which to respond to the ouncil’s planning department.

The parish council will be holding a public meeting on Saturday, October 16, at Breinton village hall at 2.30pm, for parishioners to consider the proposals and raise concerns. Bill Wiggin MP and ward councillor Bob Matthews will attend. All Breinton residents are encouraged to attend.

A further public meeting will be held at Trinity School, Three Elms Road on Wednesday, November 3, 7pm to 9pm, when officers from Herefordshire council will be on hand to answer questions.

Other parish councils affected by the proposals will be represented at this meeting.

All responses to the preferred option must be sent to Herefordshire council by November 5.
