MEXICAN NIGHT - The gringos of Goodrich dressed up in style for the Goodrich Village Hall Mexican night on Saturday. More than 60 people, most of them getting in the spirit by wearing ponchos, sombreros and moustaches, joined in the fund-raising event at the newly refurbished village hall. The hall was specially decorated with pictures and flags in a Mexican theme and great fun was had by all. On offer were 12 sumptuous sizzling dishes from 12 local chefs. Entertainment was provided by a Mexican-themed quiz followed by a traditional game of Pinyatta, where a suspended papier mache donkey is hit by a blindfolded participant with a stick until the “gifts from the gods” spill out of the donkey.
MUSIC - The next event at Goodrich Village Hall is the New Rope String Band on December 11, 7.45pm.
Tickets from Jolly’s, Sue Bishop on 01600 890609 and Andrew Herbert on 890502, priced £10/£6/£28. Supper can be booked separately. Visit goodrichvillagehall.co.uk for details.
