SCHOOL - Following the wonderful Easter service organised by Mrs Kingston, Canon Pyon School was celebrating success at the Weobley Schools Partnership annual cross country championship. With well over 100 competitors from all the local primary schools taking part and with more than half the school running, there were some fantastic performances. In first place in their respective races were Sam Fletcher, Maya Tobin and Emily Watkins; and in second and third places were Noah Williams, Bradley Gibbons, Isaac Bowden and Olivia Shepherd.
Another praiseworthy success was Sean Baycroft who finished in eighth place against runners, many of whom were four years older than him. On Thursday pupils ended the term with a Easter egg hunts, egg and spoon obstacle races and lots of stalls organised and run by the pupils as well as refreshments run with the usual hospitality by Mrs Davies.
