AFTER a marathon fundraising session by David Owens and other members of the committee, Goodrich Village Hall has a new super stage, perfect for putting on the many functions and live acts that are planned in the newly refurbished Greener Village Hall.
Costing £20,304, a grant of £10,000 from the Arts Council had to be match-funded. This led to a lot of hard work and kind donations from the Charles Hayward Foundation as well as Goodrich Arts, Goodrich Music, Walford Timber, E C Drummond (Agriculture) Ltd, Hom Green, The Saracens Head Inn, Symonds Yat East, Mary Owens, David and Ros Owens, Patrick and Lorna Vaughan, Claire Hunter, Pat Jones and Romie Walton.Sue Bishop and Goodrich Village Hall, including the promise auction profit. A huge thanks to all.
Chairman Len Morgan is very pleased to have completed this part of the plan to modernise the hall and looks forward to using the new more flexible stage to put on new and exciting events. Goodrich Village Hall and its users would like to thank Goodrich School and Langrove School for loaning their staging on numerous occasions while this project has been running, and Jollys the village shop and post office for their help with the funding appeal.
