PARISH COUNCIL NEWS - At the parish council meeting on June 23, there were seven councillors present, ward councillor David Taylor, clerk and 16 members of the public attended. The minutes of the meeting held on May 12, having been previously circulated were approved, however an amendment would be added to the next set of minutes.
Councillor Tomlinson gave a briefing regarding the co-option of councillor and said the co-option will take place at the next meeting and those that have already applied will stand. Each person will be asked to give a three minute presentation and a private ballot will take place.
Councillors Hammond and Rider gave a report on the parish walk they had completed with representatives from Amey. Members of the public asked a number of questions during the open session and these were either answered or will be answered at a future meeting.
Clerk reported that she had forwarded a couple of emails to councillors regarding Compact (14 page document) and community transport and public transport consultation. Councillor Protheroe suggested a working party to look at these documents and report back at the next meeting. Councillors Protheroe and Walker agreed to do this and co-opted Mr Phil Moore, a member of the public to assist.
Councillor John Thorne together with a public volunteer Mr Phil Moore (both who used the bus services a lot) agreed to form a working party and to look at the community transport and public transport consultation and reply on behalf of the parish council.
Mr Harding gave a short presentation regarding the fly tipping at the layby at the top of Church Road, which belongs to Welsh Water. There are No Fly Tipping signs but these are disregarded. Clerk to write to Welsh Water and ask what their proposals are for this area.
The date for the next meeting is July 21, at Innesfield community centre at 7.30pm, and as always members of the public are most welcome. The following meetings were set on September 15, October 20, December 8, January 19, 2012 and March 8, 2012.
