Swimming
Halo Leisure presents Summer Fun 4 Kids, with a wide range of activities, from drama to dance, snorkelling to synchronised swimming, for six-12-year-olds with some activities for three to five-year-olds at some centres. Court Farm Mountainboard Centre, Tillington, and Out To Grass, Cradley

Court Farm in Tillington is the first official Maxtrak centre in the county and has great facilities, whether you’re experienced or a complete beginner. Safety kit, boards and tuition for beginners are all provided, with two challenging 500-metre downhill runs for more advanced riders.

Go Ape
Anyone keen to give expression to their inner Tarzan will want to head for Go Ape to negotiate treetop walkways and challenge themselves on the high wires and cargo nets before enjoying the whoosh of the zip wire taking them back to earth. GoApe has centres in the Forest of Dean and Wyre Forest.

Llangorse Multi-Activity Centre Every Monday in August the centre will run a series of one-day multi-activity fun-days which will include a selection from climbing, abseiling, caving, ropes course, zip wire, dingle scrambling, challenge course and problem solving.Fun days are for boys and girls, aged eight to 11 and 12 to 16.

Pack a picnic and put your best foot forward Taking the whole family out for the day can be challenging on the pocket, so head for the great outdoors for a walk that will cost you nothing. In Herefordshire alone, there are 15 waymarked circular walks with free leaflets available from Tourist Information Centres and other local outlets, or visit herefordshire.gov.uk to download details.
The seaside’s special Summer’s here and we all like to be beside the sea, so why not make a day of it and head west to Gavin and Stacey country on a trip to Barry Island? A little over 70 miles from landlocked Hereford, Barry Island’s activities are centred around sandy Whitmore Bay and the Pleasure Park, with gardens and more than 50 rides between the two.
