SHEEP DOG TRIALS - Will be held for the 71st time tomorrow (Friday), at 12 noon and this Saturday at 8am, at the Court of Gladestry, by kind permission of the Watson family.
A new trophy, in memory of George Hughes, has been donated by his family at Stone House. Mr Hughes was secretary of the trials for nearly 50 years, following his father Wilfred, who was the first ever secretary and held office from 1934 until 1955. George was well- respected, well-liked and well known for his jovial nature. His eldest son, Melvyn, is carrying on the tradition, serving the Trials committee as secretary, alongside Mr Graham Powell.
Gladestry Sheep Dog Trials is one of the highlights of the year locally, and everyone is warmly invited. Further details from Mr Graham Powell 01544 370390.
