PARISH COUNCIL - Amongst the items discussed at the recent meeting of the Parish Council were: Planning permission for the demolition of a existing garage and construction of a new building and garaging to support both properties at Cherry Lyn has been refused. Subsequently, an appeal against the decision has been made to the Secretary of State.
An appeal against the refusal for an application to build eleven houses at Bliss House has been refused.
A Certificate of Lawful Use has been granted for use of land at Monnington Meadow as a private single-engine aircraft airstrip.
The Parish Council raised no objections to an application to install solar panels at Lower House.
A further consultation to discuss the revised strategy for the Local Development Framework is to be held at Eardisley Village Hall on Thursday, October 20, at 7pm.
The Herefordshire Association of Local Councils has outlined proposals to develop ‘People Proofed Budgets’ in which residents could take part in developing Parish Council’s annual precepts. Due to the short time scale, the Parish Council decided not to take part this year but, if the opportunity arose next year the proposal would be considered.
Following an incident with a long lorry having difficulty with negotiating Gipsy Lane at Brobury, it was decided to ask the Herefordshire Council to consider erecting ‘not suitable for long vehicles’ at each end of the lane.
