ST Mary's Church, Gladestry, was the venue for the celebration of two harvest festivals.
The children from Gladestry Church in Wales Primary School held their harvest festival at the church on Friday afternoon, led by Rev Mark Beaton. All sorts of produce was brought by the children and displayed around the building.
In the evening, the church gathered to give thanks and celebrate harvest and Mark spoke about the King James version of the Bible and all the brave men in history who put their lives on the line so that the scriptures might be translated into a language people could understand.
After the service, a hearty supper was provided, following which Mark auctioned the produce brought by the children.
Money raised by the auction went to one of the school's favourite charities, Water Aid.
The offerings taken during the evening service went to the church but the congregation also gave to a collection in aid of the East African drought.
Thanks to everyone for their enthusiastic and generous support for the harvest celebrations.
