COMMUNITY-LED PLAN - Breinton Parish Council is starting to update the old parish plan and replace it with a CLP. Whatever happens with the proposed relief road, the new CLP will identify the things the community feels strongly about. It could significantly improve the future for Breinton. To start this process there will be a public meeting at Breinton Village Hall from 2pm to 4pm on January 21. The meeting will be chaired by Lynda Wilcox of Herefordshire Association of Local Councils. The meeting will explain what is being proposed and how the process will work, and hopefully identify a number of volunteers to head a steering group. One topic for discussion will be how to consult with all Breinton residents and how to identify the issues that particularly matter to the residents. Among others, representatives from the National Trust, the church and the village hall management committee are invited to attend. One distinct change to the old parish plan is that the CLP may well incorporate improving sustainability in Breinton. This could be something as simple as cheaper fuel through bulk fuel orders, recycling, improving home insulation, or sharing skills and resources. In the longer term it is hoped that elements of a neighbourhood plan (how the people of Breinton want their parish to be sustained and developed in the future), will also be included. Other issues may well include the campaign for faster broadband for Herefordshire or the review of ward boundaries.
