PARISH COUNCIL - Councillors finalised arrangements for the public meeting on January 18, to start the Community-Led Plan, where councillors hope that a good turnout will help plan for the future of Breinton. Ideas from parishioners will be very welcome.
Parish councillors carefully considered the budget for 2012/13 and reduced proposed expenditure as much as possible.
Unfortunately, the work on the Community- Led Plan and the need to buy equipment to comply with the new planning application process introduced by Herefordshire Council will mean unusual (one-off) items of expenditure in 2012/13. As far as possible such items will be met by reserves, but unfortunately parish councillors will still have to increase the precept by £520. Councillors finalised the application for the grant that covers much (but not all) of the cost of the new equipment that must be purchased.
That application has now been sent to Herefordshire Council. Liz Morawiecka advised the councillors that owing to pressure of work, Pat Churchward has resigned from the parish council. Pat still works very hard for the parish and will continue to do so. The vacancy on the parish council will be advertised shortly on the noticeboards and on the parish council website. The next council will now take place on Wednesday, February 29, at 7pm in the village hall. For more information, visit breintonparish.co.uk.
