COFFEE - A coffee morning held at St Mary’s raised £464 for local charity Home-Start Herefordshire. Many people braved extreme weather conditions to enjoy coffee, cake and a chat. Stalls included books, preserves and homemade cakes while Traidcraft was represented selling coffee, tea, sugar, chocolate, cocoa and jewellery. Community orchestra Bandamania, from Presteigne, entertained guests with lively music from around the world. Home-Start supports families at home each week in situations as diverse as isolation, bereavement, multiple births, illness, disability or who are just finding parenting a struggle. It provides nonjudgemental practical and emotional support and help to build the family’s confidence and ability to cope. To receive Home-Start support, families must have at least one child under five. A fantastic amount of toiletries was donated which will go to the Radnorshire Women’s Aid, helping women and children suffering domestic violence.
