CHURCH-The Archdeacon of Hereford, Ven Paddy Benson, will lead the congregation in worship at the 11am choral Holy Communion service on Sunday. The March evening prayer service will commence at 4pm.
HOSPICE - Dilwyn’s St Michaels Hospice support group made £703.30 on January 27, by holding a breakfast morning at Aga Twyford in Leominster to celebrate British Farmhouse Breakfast Week. Some ingredients were kindly donated by local businesses.
YOUNG FARMERS - Dilwyn Young Farmers’ Club has recently donated £434 to the Midlands Air Ambulance, raised during two evenings of carol singing around local pubs.
They were helped by Matt Lane from Leominster Taxis who provided a free minibus. Then, chairman John Hanson from Home Farm in Eardisland, together with treasurer Jack Hanson from Fields Place and vice-chairman Ross Farndon, presented £1,000 to St Mary’s School, Dilwyn. The school was chosen to receive the proceeds from a successful DYFC Christmas party at the Leominster night club Euphoria because club members believe that small village schools are an integral part of vibrant rural communities. Headteacher John Gerrish and trustees’ chairman John Spackman were at the school to receive the takings.
