FILM FESTIVAL - There will be two Borderlines Film Festival events this week, at the Lady Emily Hall, Tarrington. Tomorrow (Friday) at 7.30pm Francine Stock, presenter of BBC Radio 4’s Fillm Programme, gives an illustrated talk, In Glorious Technicolor, describing the progress from the first Lumiere brothers films to the stunning visual effects in 3D used in the film Avatar.
Refreshments will be available after the talk and a chance to meet Francine. At 7.30pm on Saturday, there will be a showing of The Debt (15), starring Helen Mirren, Tom Wilkinson and Ciaran Hinds. The film portrays the reaction of two retired Mossad agents to revelations about a former colleague, who worked with them in the 60s to capture a war criminal in Berlin. Wine and other refreshments will be available at the half-time interval. Tickets for the talk are £7, for the film £4.50, either on the door, from The Courtyard, or from the Borderlines website.
There is ample car parking at the rear of the hall.
