PARISH COUNCIL - Amongst the items discussed at the recent meeting were that planning permission has been granted for the demolition of a existing garage and construction of a new house and garaging to support both properties at Cherry Lyn; for conversion of an existing barn into a disabled holiday let unit at Lower Farm; and for the construction of a conservation pool and wetland scrape at Kilkington Manor Farm.
Herefordshire Council has erected ‘not suitable for long vehicle’ signs at each end of Gipsy Lane, Brobury. Proposals are being prepared for repairs to the war memorial at Staunton-on-Wye. A number of county wide meetings have been held to introduce Neighbourhood Plans which form part of the Localism Bill. Parish councils are being encouraged to prepare plans which will involve the local community. The aim of this scheme is to ensure that decisions about new housing will be made locally. A local plan will be subject to a local referendum and finally would become a statutory document.
Guideline will be issued on how to write Neighbourhood Plans.
