BORDERLINES FILM FESTIVAL - There will be another Borderlines Film Festival event this weekend at the Lady Emily Hall, Tarrington. At 7.30pm, on Saturday, there will be a showing of Resistance (PG), starring Michael Sheen and based on Owen Sheers’ widelyacclaimed novel. Set in 1944 in Germanoccupied Britain, this is the story of an isolated village where the men have all mysteriously vanished to become part of the secret British resistance. When a German patrol arrives in the valley the severe winter forces the women to co-operate with them and a fragile mutual dependency develops. Much of the film was shot locally in the Olchon Valley and in locations around Herefordshire and Monmouthshire. Wine and other refreshments will be available at the half-time interval.
Tickets for the film are £4.50, either on the door, from the Courtyard box office, or online from the Borderlines web-site. There will be plenty of seats and car parking available, though you are advised to arrive early as it is anticipated that the film will be popular.
