SCOUTS - Plans are underway to create a brand new Beaver Scout group in Bosbury, the first Scout group in the village for decades. The inaugural meeting is set to take place on April 23, St George’s Day, in the village hall. Organisers are looking for children (aged six to eight) to join the group along with adults keen to volunteer time to help run it.

WI – Next Thursday, April 12, Bosbury WI hosts a talk about the Campaign to Protect Rural England by Peter Louis, treasurer of the society. There will also be a bring-andbuy.

BELLS – On April 13 and 14, Bosbury will be hosting practical bellringing sessions, during the day, as part of the Hereford Ringing Course. 2012 marks the 50th year this course has been run. It started as a training event for local ringers from towers in the Hereford diocese. Expanding over the years it has become a national course with about 100 students and as many tutors and helpers. Bosbury bell tower, along with that at Stretton Grandison, has been used for many years for the practical sessions and Bosbury is pleased to welcome them again.

Also on the Friday evening the course members will come to Bosbury bell tower to use the bellringing simulator. Over the years Bosbury has built an extensive training facility, so that new recruits can start their training without disturbing the neighbourhood.
