HUNDREDS of supporters of Hereford's Breast Cancer Haven raided their wardrobes, swooped on the fancy-dress shops and went as pink as possible for the charity's third Think Pink day last Friday.

A pink champagne breakfast was served at Oswin & Co in Broad Street, where they are also holding a raffle throughout October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness month, with a prize of £300 of Thomas Sabo jewellery.

Pink champagne was also in evidence at Tanners Wines, where a bottle of Bollinger Grande Anne Ros was raffled, raising almost £300 for the Haven.

Another £300 will be handed over by The Broadleys pub, where a pink bingo evening was a big hit, and at Marden Primary School, pupils enjoyed a day in the pink, with pink sweets and ice-cream sold in aid of the Haven, raising nearly £200.

Hereford City Partnership turned out in style to lend their support to the day, with the chairman of the partnership, Bobbie Heavens, driving a pink balloon festooned car carrying city centre manager Cynthia Spaull to drop in on Haven manager, Frankie Devereux, who represents the voluntary sector on the Partnership board.
