FIREFIGHTERS were called to a kitchen fire at a Hereford bar at 7.20pm yesterday (Thursday). The fire, at Saxty's in Widemarsh Street, was caused by the disconnection of a gas line to a cooker and was put out before firefighters arrived.
Manager Edward Symonds said the incident was over quickly and the fire brigade were called as a matter of procedure. Two customers left the premises for a short time, along with a band who were practising in a backroom.
