BORDERLINES FILM FESTIVAL - On Saturday at 7.30pm, Lady Emily Hall will be the venue for a Borderlines May Film Festival showing of The Iron Lady (12A) This film seems to elicit the same reaction as Marmite, but love or loathe Margaret Thatcher, you should probably make up your own mind. Mamma Mia! director Phyllida Lloyd tackles the whole story, told in smash-and-grab flashbacks from Baroness Thatcher’s amnesiac dotage.
Meryl Streep plays her at various stages of adult life, and is gregariously supported by Jim Broadbent as the ghost of her late husband Denis. Wine and other refreshments will be available at the half-time interval.
Tickets are £4.50 on the door or from the Courtyard. There will be plenty of seats and car parking available.
