COUNCIL - At the annual meeting of the parish council on May 2, Nick Brewin was reelected as chairman for the second year. Ray Dickson was re-elected vice-chairman.
Those who replied to the suggestions of how to spend £500 within the parish chose to purchase a bench and table for Checkley Barn picnic site. The council is organising football and dance/cheerleading sessions between June 30 and August 2, for children in years three-six. Sessions are between 10am-3pm and cost £3.50. Booking is essential via Lorna Radnor on 07779 592195 or the parish clerk on 769480. The council will be cutting the play area at Sufton Rise for the benefit of children living nearby until the land is sold for affordable housing.
Everyone should have received a flyer giving details of jubilee events – if you have not, let the parish clerk know on 769480 or clerk@ dormingtonmordifordgroup-pc.gov.uk.
