JUBILEE - Villagers plan a day of activities embracing all age groups and bringing together the school, church, Age UK, Scouts, Cubs, Brownies, youth group, craft group etc as well as local businesses. Events include children’s sports, fancy dress parade and a mass picnic (weather permitting).
Refreshments will be available and the parish hall will display some of the long history of Madley village. There will be a coronation tea for older members of the village who can remember June 2, 1953. The craft group is producing bunting to decorate the village and the school children are producing individual pennants to their own designs. The children will be rewarded by receiving Diamond Jubilee commemorative mugs.
